May MRPL pack llama update

It’s May here in the Bozeman, Montana and the snow in the valley is melting rapidly. Here at Madison River Pack Llamas our summer is in full swing.

We have recently sold two pack llamas, one weanling female and one pregnant female who is due in mid June.

All of our breeding females our down in Idaho being bred to various studs and should be back up to our place the first part of July. We expect their cria to be due April - May of 2024.

We kept 5 weanlings this year and are working with them on all sorts of training. We used a training box to de-sensitize them to people and halter break them. Second was the lead training. Then Saddle Training and now we are working on stringing them together.

Our mature packer boys wintered well and are itching to get out on the trail. As spring bear hunt is likely in the cards within the next few weeks for them.
